Selling Tips

You can play an active part in the successful sale of your house yourself. Make sure that your home is in optimum condition during the photo-shoot for the sales brochure and during viewings.

Create light
Light is one of the most important aspects of a house. Open the curtains, lift the blinds, invite the sunlight inside and where necessary use atmospheric artificial lighting.

Fresh Air
Make sure that the house is well ventilated and smells fresh. Put some fresh flowers in the living room and don’t forget the empty the cat litter tray!

Try to create a ‘neutral’ environment by removing small personal effects like family photo frames etc. This will help any prospective buyers to visualise themselves living in your house in the future.

Tidying up
Tidy up and remove any unnecessary clutter to make rooms seem more spacious. Remove any household objects, empty the windowsills, close all cupboard and wardrobe doors and make sure there is nothing lying on the floor.

Remember to present clean floors, windows, doors and bathrooms!

Odd jobs
Fix any outstanding odd jobs like squeaky doors, loose door handles, dripping taps, missing floorboards etc. With a little effort these kind of issues are often quickly resolved and actually cost very little to fix.

Don’t forget to make the garden look presentable, easily accessible and cared for. Mow the lawn, remove the weeds etc. First impressions count!
